Still Sick

Ben is still sick! I feel so bad for him! He has had a fever off and on since we went to the doctor on Friday. We all had a pretty good weekend overall. Nathan and Brad brewed beer, smoked a pork loin, and rode motorcycles on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day! It was sunny and around 80 degrees. Nathan rode Teri's new Harley and he really, really liked it! Ben and I had a lot of fun seeing my friends and their little ones at a park in Morton! I hadn't seen them since last December when we moved and I miss them a lot! We got to see everyone but Lisa, who was at home sick. We missed you Lisa!!! Ben didn't nap very well on Saturday and didn't sleep well on Saturday night. We were up for about 3 hours in the middle of the night on Saturday. He just didn't feel well. I felt bad because we were staying with Brad and Teri. He hasn't been sleeping very well for the past week or so for his naps or at night time. Poor thing! I hope he gets over this virus soon!!! He has been a crabby, tired baby lately!

Sick Baby

Ben felt kind of warm this morning and since we are driving to Hudson, Illinois tonight, I thought I had better play it safe and take his temperature. He had a fever of 100.8. That is a pretty low fever, but since he is 3 months old, I called the doctor's office and they wanted to see him. It turns out that he has a virus. Poor baby, no wonder he has been so crabby and not sleeping well. His fever broke during his nap before we went to the doctor and his temperature was 98.2 when we got there. The doctor said it was okay to travel though and be around other little ones, so we are going to head out when Nathan gets home for work.

Nathan and Brad are going to brew beer tomorrow. Ben and I are going to meet my friends (former co-workers) in Morton at a park. Its going to be a lot of fun! I haven't seen any of them since I moved!

Oh yeah, and they weighed Ben at his doctor appointment today and he weighs 14 pounds, 6 ounces. Please note he was 7 pounds, 12.5 ounces when he was born. He has gained almost 7 pounds in 3 months!!! He is definitely our little chunky monkey!!!

3 Months Old

It was Ben's 3 month birthday on Saturday, which was great because he got to spend it with his daddy and both grandmas. Daddy and Ben watched the Iowa State/Iowa game together. Kandace and Jared's wedding was on Saturday and we had a lot of fun! It was an absolutely gorgeous day that day and the wedding was beautiful! The girls all went for manicures and pedicures the morning of the wedding, which was awesome! The grandmas brought Ben to the reception for a little while. Brenda took pictures of us, which I will post when I get the CD in the mail.

Ben has been busy this past week. He has been rolling over like crazy! On Monday, he rolled over at least 3 times. He is rolling from his tummy to back. He can really hold himself up on his tummy and its really cute! He has been rolling from his back to his tummy on our bed for a little while, which we are pretty sure is by accident, but this rolling is on the floor and it seems like he is trying to do it.

Ben has also been working on crawling already. We really think he is going to be an early crawler. He was hanging out with Daddy on the bed the other day and he was on his tummy. He scooted (Nathan calls it the watermelon crawl) about a foot from where he was laying to Nathan. Nathan yelled and told me and I didn't believe him, until I went in there and Ben did it again. We are going to be so busy when he starts crawling! He is going to take off and never look back! He is already trying to move forward during tummy time. He definitely has the strength for it!

He is babbling away all the time, but now I call it jabbering because it seems like he is actually trying to say something and use sentences because he just keeps talking and talking. And he looks at you or things while he is talking, so I think he is having conversations, we just don't know exactly what he is saying. He is a lot of fun and we sure do love him bunches!!!

He was not digging our little photo shoot on Monday.

Picture Time

Ben was not a happy camper this evening, so the photos did not turn out very well. We will try again tomorrow or soon anyway. We may just have to go have them taken somewhere. I will have to get pictures from Brenda from this past weekend. We were in Amana, Iowa this weekend for Kandace and Jared's wedding and we had a great time! Thanks to both grandmas for coming to babysit!!! I also have some two month photos I need to post from when we were at home visiting last month.

First Entry

Okay, so I have decided to start a blog at Mandy's suggestion so that I can write about Ben's accomplishments and milestones, and post photos. I have no idea if I will keep up with this but it will be a way that family and friends can keep up to date with the day to day happenings of our life. Mandy suggested starting it from the beginning but I didn't think I had time or anything to write about. Now I think I should have started it before he was born because it wouldn't have been difficult to maintain, however, better late than never! I thought it would be appropriate to start a blog now because Ben is 3 months old and is starting to be very interactive and fun, so I feel like I have more to write about than before. Also, now that he is napping better, I seem to have a tiny bit more free time Happy 3 month birthday Ben! We are going to try to take some photos of Ben tonight, so I will try to post those soon.
